Lessons From Everyday Life

Just by chance, was in earshot of two conversations today. Found them both pretty interesting.

1.) On the light rail from the Vancouver airport headed to Cajun/Tenagment’s bootcamp, there was a mother, her daughter and her daughters friend talking. The daughter was talking about how there was this guy “Alex” who was cute but she didn’t find attractive. Her rationale was that he was whiney, and then went off into a tangent of things/stories.

This completely supports the idea that men and women have different attraction switches. Most guys would be perfectly okay with a girl that was cute. Girls look for much more.

Even more interesting, was how when she described their interaction, that there was no sexual tension, which was what she was looking for. It was more like they were buddy buddy. Sexual tension… that’s the stuff of sexual hoops and push/pull attraction.

2.) When I was grabbing lunch at a sushi joint before the bootcamp, there was a couple behind me having a relationship talk. The girl was unhappy with the guy because he seemed to keep her sepearte from his social circle and she didn’t know where she stood. In short, she was confused.

That’s where it dawned on me. Transparency is the ingredient of success. This idea carries over to a lot of different areas. Be it when you’re first meeting a woman, and you make it very clear that you are shameless attracted to her, and shamelessly hitting on her. I remember during Future’s bootcamp he said, “I am very transparent with my intentions… I make them very clear.” One of the girls he met even commented on how transparent he was.

This guy and this girl wouldn’t have been having that conversation if the guy had just been more clear and transparent with what he was looking for. Moreover, chances are that she would have been okay with whatever he was looking to get out of their relationship, as long as he had been upfront about it.

Interesting stuff. Okay, bootcamp time :).
